Long before the television shows "Cake Boss" and "Ace of Cakes" were even thought of cake artist Sylvia Sherrill was baking and decorating confectionary masterpieces in her kitchen at Sherrill's Catering Cakes and Flowers in Rossville Georgia. Sherrill's wedding cakes are widely known to be the most unique,beautifully designed, and best tasting cakes in the Chattanooga area. A variety of decorating techniques include beautiful fresh flowers,rolled Fondant,hand made gum paste flowers, and hand painted artistry . All cakes are made from Sylvia's own special recipes. Two of Sylvia's latest "Monster cakes" recieved an enormous amount of publicity in the press. One being a replica of the First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga TN. That was to Celebrate their 100th anniversery. Shortly afterward an enourmous confection in the shape of the former Old Main building at the Unversity of Tennesee at Chattanooga was constructed to commemorate the launching of UTC's 125th Anniversery celebration. A very energetic crowd of students,alumni,faculty,staff and community supporters enjoying the festivities on March 1st 2011. The UTC Marching band played Happy Birthday
at the unveiling as the crowd admired the artful masterpiece!
